The Lookout Valley Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court against the Copper Basin Cougars at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lookout Valley has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Copper Basin will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Friday, Lookout Valley was beaten by Sale Creek 46-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lookout Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Copper Basin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Whitwell at home to the tune of 83-12. Copper Basin has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.
Copper Basin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kloie Ballew, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hyatt, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds.
Lookout Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Copper Basin, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Lookout Valley took a serious blow against Copper Basin when the teams last played last Friday, falling 51-13. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lookout Valley was down 34-7.
