Sasakwa had won two straight home games and Darius Henderson did his part to make it three on Friday. The Vikings blew past the Midway Chargers 48-0 with plenty of help from Henderson, who rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Sasakwa, adding 18 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sherman Mitchell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from him.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sasakwa's defense and their four sacks. Karl White was especially locked on to Midway's QB and sacked him twice. White is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Sasakwa's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Coming up, Sasakwa will face off against Maysville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midway, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bowlegs at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
