Granby Memorial and Lewis Mills played the closest game in Pequot - West this week, with Granby Memorial eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Dominic Pagano threw for 55 yards and 1 touchdown, ran for 47 yards and caught 2 passes for 18 yards in the win.
Curtis Field was a passing and rushing force as the Bears beat the Spartans. He completed 9 passes for 100 yards and also ran for 13 yards. Field's key target this week was Ian Downey, who caught 4 passes for 81 yards.
Max Stone was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 97 yards on 25 carries as Lewis Mills bested Lewis Mills.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Rich Gadoury's team's Field and Downey have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Field has thrown for 850 yards this season, while Downey has 20 catches for 366 yards. Tony Ortiz from Gilbert-Northwestern Regional leads the league in rushing with 794 yards.
The top two teams in Pequot - West will face off this week when first place Gilbert-Northwestern Regional takes on second place Canton.
The Yellowjackets' offense has recorded 171 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Canton has permitted only 72 on the year.
The Warriors led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Nonnewaug.
