The Morro Bay Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paso Robles Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paso Robles took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Morro Bay, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Morro Bay didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Orcutt Academy, but they still walked away with a 57-52 win.
Morro Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Campbell led the charge by scoring 22 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Campbell has scored at least a third of Morro Bay's points. Jake Falat was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Paso Robles came up short against Santa Maria on Friday and fell 61-54.
The win got Morro Bay back to even at 10-10. As for Paso Robles, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Morro Bay was able to grind out a solid victory over Paso Robles in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 43-31. Will Morro Bay repeat their success, or does Paso Robles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
