Among those leading the charge was Jitzabeth Hielo Miles , who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Aysja Ward, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and seven assists.
Desert Edge's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
Desert Edge and Liberty will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Liberty is ranked 144th, while Desert Edge is ranked 119th). Washington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
