Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley has beaten Bucktail the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Bucktail has come to flipping the script.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley found their leader in sophomore Ryan Schenfield, who threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score on only five carries. Schenfield also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making one tackle. Dawson Welch was another key player, gaining 132 total yards and a touchdown.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Tein Caldwell was especially locked on to Bucktail's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Cameron County fell victim to Ridgway/Johnsonburg and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by Ridgway/Johnsonburg 41-0. It was the first time this season that the Raiders let down their fans at home.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cameron County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 156.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cameron County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 199.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Cameron County when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 18-7.
