Ozanam has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against The Daniel Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ozanam posted their biggest win since November 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 55-31 margin over Kansas School for the Deaf. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Talan Olmstead was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Olmstead is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaireion Nicholson, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, The Daniel Academy strolled past Frontier School of Excellence with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 58-39.
Ozanam's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for The Daniel Academy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Ozanam strolled past The Daniel Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ozanam since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
