Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitmore Lake). They were the clear victors by a 24-8 margin over the Erie-Mason Eagles on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.
Nolan Collins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Whitmore Lake is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Collins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Whitmore Lake got a massive performance out of Dylan Cramer, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Cramer a new career-high. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitmore Lake will face off against Greenhills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gryphons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
