The Tipton Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 82-50 victory over Wabash at home. The result was nothing new for Tipton, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Tipton was led to victory by Nolan Swan and Grady Carpenter. Swan scored 22 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Carpenter scored 22 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Swan has scored at least 25% of Tipton's points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Money, who scored 16 points.
When it comes to explaining why Wabash lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trevor Daughtry. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. The game was Daughtry's third in a row with at least ten points. Grant Ford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Tipton's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tipton will stay at home for another game and welcome Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Tipton is ranked 12th). As for Wabash, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Manchester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
