Seminole has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tarpon Springs Spongers at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Seminole will be strutting in after a win while Tarpon Springs will be coming in after a defeat.
Seminole scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-44 win over Indian Rocks Christian.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Laney Pearson and Malia Stevens. Pearson had a great game and scored 19 points. Meanwhile, Stevens did her best for the losing side, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tarpon Springs, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They fell 48-40 to Anclote on Wednesday. Tarpon Springs has not had much luck with Anclote recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite their loss, Tarpon Springs saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Emily Cartier, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Mylena Bedford, who scored 11 points.
Seminole's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. As for Tarpon Springs, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-12.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Seminole have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 22.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tarpon Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 22.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
