It was a good run, but the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Pinewood Prep 39-35. Ashley Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pinewood Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Despite the defeat, Ashley Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Tre Green scored 18 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jahlil Hope, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Ashley Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Pinewood Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashley Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cane Bay at 8:30 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Cane Bay is ranked 65th, while Ashley Ridge is ranked 81st). As for Pinewood Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Palmetto Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
