There's no place like home for the Okeechobee Brahmans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in December of 2023. They walked away with a 52-39 victory over Eau Gallie on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Okeechobee, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Oliver Saunders was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Saunders is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Corey Wilkerson, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Eau Gallie still got an impressive performance from Timir Jace, who scored 14 points. Jace continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Hengehold, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Okeechobee now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Eau Gallie, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Centennial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Okeechobee in Florida (Centennial is ranked 64th, while Okeechobee is ranked 286th). As for Eau Gallie, they will head out on the road to square off against Viera at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
