Baseball Recap: Mason Classical Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mason Classical Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks. This was a revenge game for the Paladins: when they faced off against the Shamrocks back in February, they had to take a 16-7 defeat.

Arturo Goldman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Goldman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mason Lichter was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

Mason Classical Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .517 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Mason Classical Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Donahue Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Mason Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Donahue Catholic, they will take on The Village School of Naples at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Shamrocks will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
