Mia Preuhs made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Irelyn Fisher, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Benedict, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Neshannock got the win against New Castle on Thursday by a conclusive 12-1.
Addy Frye spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Gabby Quinn was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidon Nogay, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Union Area's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Neshannock, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
