1A District 4 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Bellevue moved up to 122 from 159 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 4. The Tigers were able to make the jump by beating Owen County 22-14.
Bellevue was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in the league. Earlier in the week, Dave Eckstein's team triumphed over the Rebels 22-14.
Ludlow's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mitchell Cody threw for 16 yards and Calib Mitchell had 10 yards receiving. On the ground Jeremiah Martin chipped in 63 yards. Kolin McCauley- helped Ludlow's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
Ludlow's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cody has thrown for 479 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Zach Cole has 11 catches for 207 yards. Anthony Jordan leads the league in rushing with 147 yards.
Dayton and Bracken County played the most hotly contested game in 1A District 4 this week, with Dayton eventually emerging with a 32-27 victory.
