The School Without Walls Penguins will face off against the Archbishop Carroll Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. School Without Walls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
School Without Walls is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Coolidge, who was ranked tenth at the time (School Without Walls was ranked fourth). School Without Walls blew past Coolidge 28-2 on Wednesday. The Penguins haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Ellington Hunt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hunt was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, School Without Walls let Nolan Spangenberg and Terrill Turner run wild. Spangenberg scored four runs while going 2-for-2, while Turner went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Turner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charles Daggett, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
School Without Walls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coolidge only posted a batting average of .100.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-1 to Bishop O'Connell.
Archbishop Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clyde Watts, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That hit was Watts' first of the season.
Archbishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for School Without Walls, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Archbishop Carroll's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: School Without Walls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. It's a different story for Archbishop Carroll, though, as they've only averaged .274. Will they be able to contain School Without Walls' hitters?
