The Estill County Engineers are taking a road trip to take on the Montgomery County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Estill County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Bella Rice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Estill County got a big performance out of Kadara Skinner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Brooklyn Ferrell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Montgomery County beat Western Hills 7-3 on Thursday.
Montgomery County also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lilliana Hill gave up three earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Sara Zink was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Cox, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Montgomery County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Hills only managed five hits.
Estill County pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Montgomery County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Estill County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Montgomery County struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Estill County might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Montgomery County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Engineers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
