The Unaka Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a  rough 50-30 loss at the hands of West Greene. Unaka has not had much luck with West Greene recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
 Despite the  loss, Unaka saw an underclassman step up:  Katlyn Dugger  scored nine points along with three  steals. Dugger set a new season high mark in  blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of  Keyona Hague, who  scored four points along with six  rebounds.
 Unaka's defeat was  their fifth straight on the road, which  bumped their record down to 2-9. As for West Greene,  the  win  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unaka will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Happy Valley at 6:30  p.m.  on January 2, 2024. As for West Greene, they will head out on the road to face off against Gibbs at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
