The Laney Buccaneers won the last time they faced the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Laney blew past Northside - Jacksonville, posting a 61-18 victory at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Laney.
Among those leading the charge was Piper Conklin, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lauren Bastable, who scored 11 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Northside - Jacksonville still got an impressive performance from Evelyn Hopkins, who scored 8 points.
Laney's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laney will square off against Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside - Jacksonville is on the road again on Friday and play against Swansboro at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st.
