Epiphany took a serious blow against Wayne Country Day, falling 61-23. Epiphany has struggled against Wayne Country Day recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Epiphany still got an impressive performance from Alanna Moye, who scored 11 points. That was a full 47.8% of Epiphany's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wayne Country Day was led to victory by Kyrah Davis and Jada Vanderhorst. Davis scored 16 points along with five steals, while Vanderhorst dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vanderhorst has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Smith, who scored 11 points.
Epiphany has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Wayne Country Day, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Epiphany will face off against Arendell Parrott Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Epiphany is coming into the contest with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Arendell Parrott Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Wayne Country Day, they will face off against Greenfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne Country Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.
