Challenger is 0-8 against Nebo Crossing Academy since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Challenger Firebirds' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Challenger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
On Monday, Challenger came up short against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy and fell 55-46.
Riley Annis put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Braelon Roe, who scored six points along with nine assists.
Nebo Crossing Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were beaten by Veritas Christian Academy 80-35. It was the first time this season that Nebo Crossing Academy let down their fans at home.
Challenger's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Nebo Crossing Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Challenger ended up a good deal behind Nebo Crossing Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 43-27. Can Challenger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
