Cambridge City Lincoln had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Eastern Hancock Royals, falling 14-2. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Addyson Pitcock was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.
As for Eastern Hancock, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs.
On Eastern Hancock's side, Macy Martin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, McKenna Stewart looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Hannah Wittgren and Addisyn Trackwell did most of the damage at the plate: Wittgren went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Trackwell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Trackwell is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Makenna Mason was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
