Last Saturday, Tri-Valley strolled past Line Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Given Tri-Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Line Mountain is ranked 583rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Layne Yoder was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. He hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Braeden Doyle, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. Jesse Rodino put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Rodino, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Tri-Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. As for Marian Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Tri-Valley beat Marian Catholic 56-44 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Marian Catholic's Frank Valente, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Tri-Valley to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
