The Point Arena Pirates stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 91-26 win over Potter Valley at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-18.
Point Arena's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dauki Bechtol led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bechtol has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Derek Billy, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Point Arena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Potter Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Point Arena will be playing at home against Laytonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Point Arena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Laytonville likes a good challenge. Potter Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Round Valley at 8:00 p.m. on February 8th.
