The Lake Ridge Academy Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Lawrence Upper by a score of 55-52. Lake Ridge Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lawrence Upper apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Lawrence Upper found their leader in underclassman Guy Caster, who scored 26 points. The match was Caster's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Carmichael, who scored 13 points.
Lake Ridge Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Lawrence Upper, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Normandy at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Lawrence Upper is on the road again on Friday and play against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th.
