After three games on the road, Cherryvale is heading back home. They will take on the Neodesha Blue Streaks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Cherryvale took a serious blow against the Yellowjackets, falling 60-25. Cherryvale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.
Despite the loss, Cherryvale had strong showings from Carsen Ellis, who scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds, and Landon Fox, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Ellis grabbed two or more steals.
While Neodesha couldn't quite beat the Yellowjackets on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 29-point defeat they were dealt last Friday. Neodesha fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 46-44. Neodesha has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cherryvale dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Neodesha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
