Second TeamP - Kalen McGill, P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, Fla.), JuniorThe junior had 16 shutouts on the season and six no-hitters to go along with her area-low 0.83 earned-run average. In 142 innings she struck out 181 and had only 15 walks. McGill, who went 24-3 on the mound, was the main reason the Class 3A Blue Wave handed the 6A state champion Columbia Tigers three of their four losses this season, including a 6-0 shutout. She also batted .444 with seven home runs and 35 RBIs. She was named the 2013 Gainesville Sun Small School Player of the Year.
P - Kaley Bitterman, Pine Castle Christian Academy (Orlando, Fla.), SeniorFinishing 21-7 with a 1.84 ERA, Bitterman also batted .616 and had a school-record 28-game hitting streak for a team that reached the state tournament for the second year in a row and third time in four years. She pitched five no-hitters this season and was named the All-Central Florida Softball Player of the Year. In throwing a shutout in the state title game, Bitterman also hit three triples.
P - Kayla Harris, Greenbrier Christian Academy (Chesapeake, Va.), JuniorHarris led the team to a 27-0 season as she pitched all 27 wins, posting a 0.59 ERA, and striking out 285 in 154 innings. Among her 16 shutouts were six no-hitters (three perfect games), six one-hitters and six two-hitters. She also batted .494, drove in 58 runs, scored 34, and had a .988 slugging. She was a repeat All-State selection and All-Tidewater Player of Year.
P - Nicole Cring, Cooperstown (N.Y.), SeniorCring, who was the team's leading hitter with a .451 average, posted a 20-1 record with 232 strikeouts, 26 walks with a 0.62 earned run average in 146 innings. She will play at Springfield College next year.
P - Kaylee Childers, Massac County (Metropolis, Ill.), SeniorEn route to a 27-1, season, Childers won her first 27 games before losing to state champion Nashville. She posted a 1.49 ERA, 174 strikeouts and batted .510 with 46 runs, 52 hits, and 20 extra base hits. A first team all-state selection, Childers was chosen for the Softball Super 60 Classic. She will play at Lake Land College.
P - Carli Jo Leblanc, Brusly (La.), JuniorLeblanc compiled a 26-1 record with a 0.95 ERA and 237 strikeouts in 169 innings. She was named the Times-Picayune All-Baton Rouge Player of the Year for leading Brusly to the 3A state title. The Panthers' junior earned District 7-3A MVP, Class 3A championship Outstanding Player and all-state recognition.
P - Randi May, Wheatland (Calif.), Senior

With May going 30-3, Wheatland reached the finals of the CIF North Section D-4 championship. May had a 1.60 ERA, 240 strikeouts in 214 innings and batted .369 with 40 RBIs.
P - Beth Wood, Mineral Point (Wis.), JuniorWood was named the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Division 3 state player of the year. Wood, who also earned all-state honors at pitcher, went 23-1 with a 1.11 ERA and 206 strikeouts in 160 innings for Mineral Point (23-3), which made its first state tournament appearance in 30 years.
P - Hillary Carpenter, Hatton (Town Creek, Ala.), SeniorThe UNA signee concluded her career by helping Hatton win a fourth straight Class 2A state title. The left-hander finished with a 33-6 record, 1.75 ERA, four no-hitters and 13 shutouts. She averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game and also hit .466. She was named to the Alabama Super All-State team.
P - Courtney Cuzick, Nipomo (Calif.), SeniorA four-year starter, Cuzick led the Titans to a 20-6 record this season, the best in school history. As a senior, she recorded 267 strikeouts and allowed 28 walks while posting a 0.69 earned run average with an 18-6 record. She will play at Penn. She's this year's Tribune County Player of the Year.
C - Janell Wheaton, San Dimas (Calif.), JuniorThe junior catcher hit .609 and had 39 RBIs to help the Saints to a 22-8 record and another Valley Vista League title. Wheaton also had 21 extra-base hits, with 12 doubles. She has committed to Florida.
C - Isabelle Labadie, Marcellus (Mich.), SeniorLabadie capped a terrific career by batting .726 with 13 doubles, eight triples and five home runs. The Wildcats' leadoff batter scored 36 runs, drove in 31 and stole 31 bases. Labadie, who batted .531 in her career with 97 extra-base hits, threw out 18 of 19 base runners who attempted to steal. She will play at Aquinas College.
1B - Jackie Buechler, Parker (San Diego), SeniorA dual threat, Buechler batted .603 with 23 extra bases and 45 RBIs and pitched her way to a 20-4 record with 0.85 ERA and 149 innings with 143 strikeouts. Named All-State and the San Diego Union All-Area team, Buechler has signed with Amherst.
1B - Taylor Odom, Goreville (Ill.), SeniorOdom batted .459 with 10 home runs, 45 RBIs and a .976 slugging pct. She scored 39 runs in leading Goreville to third place at Illinois 1A state tournament. She has signed with Murray State.
IF - Savannah Soppet, Beecher (Ill.), SeniorAll the two-time Chicago Times Player of Year did for a 27-7 Ladycats squad was hit .481 with team highs in hits (50), RBIs (46), runs (45), and triples (6). In limited pitching duty, she went 8-2 with a team-best 1.26 ERA and 93 strikeouts over 61 innings. She will play at Illinois-Chicago.
IF - Marissa Gagliano, Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, Ill.), JuniorGagliano has committed to Radford University. She hit .642 in the regular season to lead the Warriors to the Suburban Christian Conference Gold championship. In 19 regular season games, she recorded 43 hits in 73 plate appearances, including 3 doubles and a triple. She also scored 35 runs and stole 30 bases in 31 attempts. Defensively, she recorded an incredible .990 fielding percentage at shortstop with only one error in 97 total chances.
IF - Jessica Valenzuela, Aquinas (San Bernardino, Calif.), SeniorIn 28 games, Valenzuela collected 55 hits and 52 RBIs, while hitting, .556 and scoring 40 runs. She has signed with Bethune-Cookman.
IF - Bella Zizzi, East Robertson (Cross Plains, Tenn.), SeniorZizzi, who signed to play for the University of Tennessee-Martin, finished the season with a .454 batting average and a team-high 36 runs scored. She also stole 22 bases and finished with a fielding percentage of .945. She was named The Tennessean's Offensive Player of the Year.
IF - Peyton Barthel, Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (Decatur, Ala.), JuniorNamed Alabama's 1A Player of the Year, Barthel did it hitting (.518 avg., 15 HR, 56 RBIs, 16 2B, 6 3B, 21 stolen bases) and pitching (19-8, 189 strikeouts in 177 innings).
IF - Lindsay O'Steen, Lafayette (Mayo, Fla.), SeniorO'Steen batted .450 with 46 RBIs, 40 runs scored and led Lafayette to state 1A final. She also was 9-2 on the mound and averaged more than a strikeout per inning. She will attend the College of Central Florida.
IF - Jenna Davis, South Granville (Creedmoor, N.C.), Senior

Davis led South Granville to a state 2A title and was named the state's 2A Player of the Year. She's a clutch performer with 49 RBIs and batted .523.
OF - Taylor Terrio, Riverside (Reserve, La.), SeniorTaylor, the NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune Small Schools Player of the Year, batted .587 with 20 RBIs and 34 stolen bases.
OF - Victoria Crumpton, Hatton (Town Creek, Ala.), SeniorThe speedy University of Alabama in Huntsville signee hit .428 with 28 RBIs. She also stole 65 bases.
OF - Gabrielle Griego, West Las Vegas (Las Vegas, N.M.), SeniorVersatile player who hit .696 (.772 OBA), drove in 54 runs, scored 65 and had 64 hits as Dons finished as state runners-up. She had a dozen home runs and 25 doubles and a slugging pct. of 1.446. She walked 31 times.
OF - Janessa Bassett, Stansbury (Tooele, Utah), JuniorNamed the Salt Lake City Tribune's 3A Player of the Year, Bassett scored 47 runs and hit .500 (54 for 108), including six doubles and four triples. She walked 11 times, had a .553 on-base percentage, struck out just three times, drove in 24 runs and committed just one error. She also stole 36 bases. During the Stallions' run to the state title, she went 13-for-23 (.565) with 10 runs scored during Stansbury's six postseason games. She has committed to Dixie State.
OF - Ashlee Kawall, Somonauk (Ill.), Senior Batted .605 (OBP .676) with 52 hits, and 46 steals in 47 attempts. She scored 43 runs in 27 games. She is one of only five Illinois prep players to steal more than 55 bases, score 60 runs and collect 70 hits in a season. Selected to play in Illinois Mizuno games for top Illinois seniors.
UT - Morgan Ray, Frenchtown (Mont.), SophomoreThe 5-foot-10 sophomore right-handed pitcher and first baseman led the Broncs (24-3) to the Class A state championship this past season. Ray posted a 14-1 record in the circle with two saves, a 0.78 ERA and 203 strikeouts in 107.2 innings and was named state's Gatorade Player of the Year. She allowed 44 hits and 26 walks and threw one perfect game. At the plate, she batted .506 with six home runs, nine doubles, 38 runs scored, 39 RBIs and a .800 slugging pct. She has committed to Ohio State.
UT - Corrie Boggess, American Heritage (Delray Beach, Fla.), SeniorA repeat Palm Beach Post Post Player of the Year winner, Boggess finished 2013 with 15 wins, a 1.28 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings. She also led Heritage in batting average (.479), home runs (three), RBIs (31) and doubles (10). She will play at River State College.
UT - Baily Bennett, Heppner (Ore.), SeniorDespite walking an average of one time per game, Bennett batted .587, drove in 43 runs and belted a dozen homers. She also was 19-4 with 194 strikeouts in 156 innings and posted a 0.90 ERA. She will attend Treasure Valley Community College.
