Northwest is 10-0 against Lexington since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northwest Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Lexington Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. Lexington took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest, who comes in off a win.
Northwest scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 58-54 victory over Malcolm. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Northwest as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Northwest's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Reagan Mcintyre, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, and Jolie O?hara, who scored 12 points along with eight assists. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kyla Sybrandts was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lexington, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 55-11 loss at the hands of York. While losing is never fun, Lexington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while York is ranked 96th).
Northwest's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lexington, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Northwest took their win against Lexington in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 45-24. Does Northwest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lexington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
