The Unity Christian Academy Phoenix scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Islamic Foundation for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-30 win at home. Unity Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Unity Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shamar Coleman led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aidan Robinson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win was the sixth in a row for Unity Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 8-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Islamic Foundation, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unity Christian Academy will challenge College Prep of America at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. College Prep of America knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Unity Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Islamic Foundation won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Universal at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Universal is ranked 726th, while Islamic Foundation is ranked 743rd).
