Bryant is 4-0 against Little Rock Southwest since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bryant Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Little Rock Southwest Gryphons at 7:00 p.m. Bryant is coming into the game hot, having won their last 25 games.
On Wednesday, Bryant had just enough and edged Cabot out 51-48. Given Bryant's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Cabot is ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryant's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camarion Bead, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Bead is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rj Young, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Little Rock Southwest had to settle for a 54-51 loss against Jonesboro on Monday.
Bryant's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2. As for Little Rock Southwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Bryant beat Little Rock Southwest 77-64 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bryant since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
