Arbor View has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Desert Pines Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Arbor View is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Desert Pines in Nevada (Arbor View is ranked fourth, while Desert Pines is ranked 26th).
Even though Silverado scored an imposing 66 points on Wednesday, Arbor View still came out on top. Arbor View walked away with a 77-66 victory over Silverado.
Arbor View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pharaoh Compton, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Compton is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was DeMarion Yap, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Desert Pines pushed their score all the way to 65 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Coronado on the road and fell 95-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Desert Pines has suffered yet this season.
Arbor View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Desert Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Everything went Arbor View's way against Desert Pines when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Arbor View made off with a 65-43 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Desert Pines' Isiaac Boykin, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Arbor View to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
