The Mountain View Bruins entered their tilt with the Uintah Utes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mountain View enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over Uintah on Tuesday. That 16 points margin sets a new team best for Mountain View this season.
It was another big night for Conner Fairbanks, who scored 33 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Several Utes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JD Pickup, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Pickup scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Dauson Gardiner, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Mountain View's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Uintah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Mountain View will be playing in front of their home fans against Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Timpanogos is ranked 40th, while Mountain View is ranked 24th). As for Uintah, they will head out on the road to take on Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Layton Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 contests.
