Meanwhile, Southwestern beat Rising Sun 41-34 on Saturday.
Southwestern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Fulton, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rorie Scroggins, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Jac-Cen-Del has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Southwestern, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Jac-Cen-Del have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southwestern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Jac-Cen-Del took their victory against Southwestern in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 55-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jac-Cen-Del since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
