The New Waverly Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell 67-58 to Onalaska. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Onalaska to victory were Brayden Topkins and Lucas Jackson. Topkins scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Jackson scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Johnny Byrd, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
New Waverly has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season. As for Onalaska, their win bumped their record up to 15-18.
New Waverly will head out on the road to challenge Tarkington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tarkington's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Onalaska, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Anderson-Shiro at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Onalaska focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
