Even though the Leadership Academy Falcons scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, the Piedmont Classical Bobcats still came out on top. Piedmont Classical walked away with a 74-67 victory over Leadership Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Piedmont Classical.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman Cameron Anderson , who scored 12 points. Anderson also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of La'Trel Smith, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Burleyson, who scored 19 points. The match was Burleyson's third in a row with at least ten points. Caden Ryker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Piedmont Classical's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont Classical will square off against Central Carolina Prep at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Central Carolina Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 355 points over their last five contests. As for Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop McGuinness at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop McGuinness has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
