Elite Scholars Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jerel Clark and Chase Grant. Clark scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Grant scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Miller, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Elite Scholars Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Elite Scholars Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. As for Towers, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elite Scholars Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Atlanta International at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Towers, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Towers in Georgia (Columbia is ranked 25th, while Towers is ranked 301st).
