While losing is never fun, Cuba/Spoon River Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Peoria Heights is ranked 102nd).
Janessa Wallace was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds for Peoria Heights. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wallace has scored at least 25% of Peoria Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rianna Foster, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Cuba/Spoon River Valley now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Peoria Heights, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cuba/Spoon River Valley will take on PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peoria Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eureka at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
