The Barbers Hill Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Angleton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Barbers Hill 1.9, Angleton 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Angleton will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Barbers Hill extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Eagles' way against Sterling as they made off with a 9-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Bridger Thomas looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Barbers Hill got a massive performance out of Ryan Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Joseph Ponder, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Angleton nor Friendswood made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats lost 13-6 to the Mustangs. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this contest were averaging 3.36 runs allowed.
Gary Caldwell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Angleton is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-13-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Angleton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Estrada, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Zephyr Medart also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Barbers Hill's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Angleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14-1 record this season.
Barbers Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Angleton when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
