Heritage is 8-2 against Bellmont since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will face off against the Braves at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Heritage sitting on three straight wins and Bellmont on five.
Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Marion an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Cameron Rauner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Rauner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marion only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Bellmont made easy work of Mississinewa on Wednesday and carried off a 6-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Beau Baker's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. Bellmont is 4-1 when Baker posts ten or more strikeouts, but 7-12 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bellmont's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.
Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellmont in their previous matchup on May 7th, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
