Durham Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They really took it to the South Wake Sabres for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-45 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-20.
Durham Academy had a senior duo take command as Josh Dorsette made all 6 shots he took racking up 19 points along with six assists and three steals and Malcolm McNeill shot 75% from the field on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Major Howell, who posted eight points and five boards.
Durham Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Wake only racked up eight.
When it comes to explaining why South Wake lost, don't look at Daniel Bramble. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Brueggeman, who had four points.
