Ivee Rastatter was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JJ Davis 2027, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Kyanne Tyson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Kenton Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake got the win against Kenton on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-4. The victory continues a trend for the Lakers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.
Like Kenton Ridge, Indian Lake also got a great game from a two-way player: Bre Wisener. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Wisener was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Addison Stinemetz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Izzi Mackesy, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Indian Lake's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kenton Ridge, their record now sits at 4-0.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kenton Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .439. However, it's not like Indian Lake struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
