After flying high against Florala last Monday, Opp came back down to earth. The Opp Bobcats fell just short of the Zion Chapel Rebels by a score of 34-32 on Friday. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Dionna Stoudemire and Saniyah Hines, who each put up eight points. Ashlyn Henderson held things down on the boards with 14 rebounds. Taylor Adams took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Opp's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Zion Chapel, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.

Opp and Zion Chapel could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Opp (ranked 298th) will meet Andalusia (ranked 100th) at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Zion Chapel (ranked 370th) will meet Kinston (ranked 109th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
