The Pahokee Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Clewiston. The contest was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Pahokee was outscored by Clewiston in the second.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kalil Jones, who scored 20 points. Jones continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Javian Jones, who scored 18 points.
Pahokee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Clewiston, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pahokee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Royal Palm Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Royal Palm Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pahokee in Florida (Royal Palm Beach is ranked 157th, while Pahokee is ranked 679th). As for Clewiston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seminole Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
