In what's become a running theme this season, the Lakeside Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They breezed by West Seattle on the road to the tune of 63-27. The win was just what Lakeside needed coming off of a 60-38 defeat in their prior match.
Several West Seattle players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alyssa Neumann, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Neumann hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 14 straight games. Colby Timmons was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for West Seattle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside on the road again on Monday and play against Stanwood at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th. Stanwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Lakeside is ranked 13th). As for West Seattle, they will head out on the road to take on Eastside Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastside Catholic is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
