The Bay Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Moss Point Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
Bay suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Pass Christian, falling 56-17. While losing is never fun, Bay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Pass Christian is ranked 64th).
Moss Point posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 47-20 victory over Poplarville. The victory was just what Moss Point needed coming off of a 71-37 loss in their prior matchup.
Moss Point's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alejandro Montalvo, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Montalvo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quey'sean Taylor, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Bay has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Moss Point, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
Bay lost to Moss Point on the road by a decisive 38-23 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
