Pepperell has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Dade County Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Pepperell is ranked 493rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 476th).
Even though Coosa scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Pepperell still came out on top. Pepperell took their game against the Eagles 67-55. The win was just what Pepperell needed coming off of a 97-30 defeat in their prior game.
Pepperell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliot Goggans, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chris Fife, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Dade County pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Trion at home by a decisive 73-56 margin. Dade County just can't catch a break and has now endured five losses in a row.
Pepperell's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Dade County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Pepperell skirted past the Wolverines 50-47 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pepperell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
