Plymouth is 1-9 against Brighton since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Plymouth Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Brighton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Plymouth will be strutting in after a win while Brighton will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Plymouth has not done well against Northville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Plymouth slipped by Northville 43-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given Plymouth's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Northville is ranked 140th).
Meanwhile, Brighton's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-42 walloping at the hands of Canton on Friday. Brighton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plymouth's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Brighton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Plymouth came up short against Brighton when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 60-49. Can Plymouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
