Lafayette Christian is 9-1 against LaGrange Academy since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lafayette Christian Cougars will stay at home for another game and welcome LaGrange Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lafayette Christian pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-57 bruising from Shiloh Hills Christian.
Despite the defeat, Lafayette Christian had strong showings from Joshua Zapata, who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds, and Vakiel Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Zapata scored a full 38.6% of Lafayette Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, LaGrange Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Fulton Science Academy 60-25.
Their wins bumped Lafayette Christian to 2-2 and Shiloh Hills Christian to 9-0.
Everything came up roses for Lafayette Christian against LaGrange Academy when the teams last played back in November as the team secured a 69-30 victory.
