Bunn barely beat Franklinton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bunn Wildcats were the clear victor by a 23-3 margin over the Franklinton Red Rams on Tuesday. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
MaKayla McDonald looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also allowed four hits, marking her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Bunn got a massive performance out of Madeline Bryson, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Bunn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklinton only posted an OBP of .381.
Bunn's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Franklinton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunn will welcome Southern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Nash will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Bunn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Franklinton, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sanderson at 6:00 p.m.
