The West Orange Warriors posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They blew past Olympia 54-31. Given West Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Olympia is ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Olympia saw an underclassman step up: Ava Pazos scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Pazos has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.
West Orange's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Olympia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Orange will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Olympia won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Brantley at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Lake Brantley is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
